Hi - I don't know if any one has any suggestions, I don't know what to do. I have ewe, she is not due to lamb until next Tuesday, she started acting strange yesterday morning - came in the feed room and laid down while everyone was eating, she finally did get up and ate some then I saw her eating some leaves and grass later that morning. She will stand and stretch and lay down on her side and just mope around. She didn't eat this morning or tonight. This morning I gave her a shot of anti biotic and some probios - her nose seems fine, not cold; did the same tonight. She didn't lay down all day today, just moped around, head down, not eating, no cud. Tonight she did finally lay down - kind of on her side with her back legs out, then she would get up and mope around some more and try to stretch. Is she having a really long labor? Could the baby be in the wrong position and causing her discomfort/pain? How would I be able to tell and is there anything I could do about it? Should I try to get a vet out here or is there anything they could really do ,either?
The last lamb she had came breech (sp?) but by the time my husband came up to get me and we got back down there to help her, she had had it, apparently ok - they were both ok. Any ideas?
