What about the giant schnauzer housepet that is not allowed near the
sheep? What are the conflicts between having pet dogs and guard dogs?

Barb:
When I had my worst sheep losses from predators 2 years ago, we had to set
leghold traps. We first caught a coyote, but were still had another loss the
next night while the tras were reset. Next night we caught a big big
Schnauzer that had been roaming for the past 3 or 4 months. Sheep losses
stopped
and we caught nothing more in the traps. The Schnauzer was bred for hunting.
