autohide + strut + slit still not working properly

The toolbar problem is fixed, but the slit's strut is still not updating
- the strut acts as if the slit is *not* hidden, but full-size. So, in
my case, although the slit is (when hidden) about 3 px high, the strut
is still about 25px off the bottom of the screen.
