I went without kde or gnome, and run what I need. In excess of that is from m$ windows. I ended up with a fairly standard console system with X and X apps. To date I haven't installed kde or gnome libs, but they would let me run kde or gnome applications. Your distro, your rules. What matters is: What do you want? If you get Openoffice, X, mail, printing, and some multimedia apps, what more do you want? Make the list. -- With best Regards, Declan Moriarty. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
