I doubt anything needs the raw schema files, even gconf probably
doesn't since I assume it builds a database with the information from
the schemas.  Although if you want to uninstall a package, you'll need
the schemas to unregister it.  I didn't think the schemas would take
up much space, but they do take up around 16MB on my machine for a
full GNOME install (minus accessibility tools).  So I assume why
you're asking is so you can delete them for space?
