Dunno if this would really help, but you can always add a dictionary entry to get it to say something else, or maybe 'play' a blank sound instead of that character/word.
JJust tested it now by adding a dictionary entry for `, and replacing it with a space, and it did indeed say 'space' when I then used that key. Obviously, to get into the Dictionary, use Jaws key + D, then use Ctrl + Shift + D to load the default dictionary, then you can simply tab around that dialogue to find what you need.
