I believe the documents in this folder are only shortcuts to the documents
themselves, so if you've deleted the documents and emptied the recycle bin
they won't work

It's there as a convenience for opening files you have recently opened.  The

clue is in the word "recent".  In other words, none of these files will stay

there for long.

I think that clearing your History will empty this folder but they will go 
anyway.
