Hi Marilyn, It would not have been called Maxtor in the USB controllers, it would have simply been named USB mass storage device.
That's the downside of this part, but again, going into the properties of the device would have yielded the name of the drive, so either way you would have found out which it was. Either way, I'm glad you got it sorted out.
