Hi Victor, I have a new external hard drive, that I am going to use to backup my windows XP desktop. I haven't checked yet, but I think it is formatted as NTFS. Your comment to Patricia regarding fat 32 formatting, so as to connect to a windows 98 machine, has got me wondering. For example, I have an old desktop running windows 98 second edition. I want to backup the information on this system to my new external hard drive too. I may even copy some of the information over onto my XP machine. If fat 32 formatting is required to connect to windows 98, does this mean, that I wont be able to backup the information from both desktops onto the same external hard drive? I do obviously intend to have each backup in its own separate folder on the hard drive. Hope I have explained myself clearly.
