That's odd.  I've been using the latest version from the VLC web site and
all the menus and such are there.  I've made no changes to the interface.  I
believe this latest version came out close to the end of July.

What version of VLC do you have installed?  I still use version 0.7 and 
block all requests to update because the newer versions use a skin that is 
not accessible.  I have not taken the time to determine if there is an 
accessible skin yet.  If you need that old version, I have placed it in my
