Go to the start menu and look for an item called windows Update or Microsoft Update and press enter. Wait until the page loads and you will be presented with a list of necessary updates for your computer. Service Pack 3 will be one of these updates. Its about 300 megs in size so may take a bit to download and install. You can also opt to download the service pack and download directly from your computer. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en In short, you do not need sighted help to install service pack 3. It is completely something you can do by yourself, especially if you've ever used Windows Update. andre ----- Original Message ----- From: "ROSEMARIE CHAVARRIA" <knitqueen2...@verizon.net> To: <blind-computing@jaws-users.com> Sent: Saturday, December 18, 2010 11:47 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] internet explorer not lettingmedownloadmicrosoft security essentials
Hi, David, I tried installing SP 3 and messed up the computer so I had to have one of my nephews do a system restore. I do have a friend who installed SP 3 so I'll ask him how he did it. He said he did it all by himself.
