Hi, Andre,

I have never used windows update before until today. Yes, I did read the message but maybe I didn't pay close attention. Anyway, SP 3 is already installed.

Rosemarie. I stated in a previous post that the download of the service pack
3 was 300 megs in size. I do not know if you are reading list messages, or
if you cannot comprehend list message content, but you are making it
difficult for people to help you. It appears that you are not reading
messages in their entirety. The end result is that you will be making people
feel as though you are wasting their time. You are ultimately putting
yourself at a disadvantage.

Hi, Chris and all,

Does SP3 require a lot of space to install it? I'm just wondering.

Thanks.

Hi all.
I will share my sentiments here.
While I appreciate Rosemary's difficulties, she needs to understand that
her computer is at serious risk of being attacked. If anyone is running
XP, they *should*, and I emphasize should, be using Service Pack 3.
Alternatively they should upgrade the operating system altogether. I know
this isn't the cheapest option though. So I will say only if you can
afford it and your computer can as well should you upgrade the operating
system altogether. Otherwise, stick with XP, but make sure it's SP3 not
earlier!
Take care.

Rosemarie, sp2 is no longer supported. U can try to download&/or
install Security Essentials from now until they install central air in
a very hot place,& it simply will not work.

U should check to ensure that your system meets the minimum
requirements prior to installing sp3.

1 other thing u should probably make certain of is that there's no
malware on your machine. In addition, certain antivirus/antispyware
programs that prohibit changes to your registry& files like those
required by sp3 should be disabled prior to installing.

U need to be aware that you're now running an unsupported operating
system& that, as such, you're at serious security risk.

Hi, David,

I tried installing SP 3 and messed up the computer so I had to have one

I'll ask him how he did it. He said he did it all by himself.

Sited help is not required at all for SP3, I did it myself and I'm not
sited.

hello there;

well, I'll tell you again, just as I did on the other list.

you can't, use, MSE.

your only running XP,service pack2,
so, MSE is not going to work.

I first would update your operating system, to service pack 3.

Hi, everyone,

I want to download microsoft security essentials but when I go to
download it, internet explorer won't let me. It says something like
"unable to download. Try again later". Any ideas as to what could be
causing this problem?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Rosemarie
