Well, if you then invoke the context menu on the system tray icon, there might in fact be an option to close outlook completely, but anyway.

Not sure either, but think it might also be something you can set in the options dialogue if it must behave like this in any case, but can't remember off hand - sorry.

Stay well

Hi Jacob,
Outlook 2003 is still running in the system tray after using alt f4.
I did try closing from the file menu, but Outlook remained in the system
tray. Thanks for your help, as I wasn't sure what was going on.
Allen

I would guess that instead of closing, outlook 2003 is sort of minimising to

the system tray, and then running in background, since it can sort of be
told to do that when closing it using alt + F4.

I think that exiting off the item on the file menu is meant to not make this

happen, but, you can in any case check system tray icons using jaws key +
F11 once you've closed it to make sure it's not running down there in system

tray.

Stay well

Hi everyone,
I hope someone can give me an answer. The last couple of days after
closing Outlook 2003, while just on the desktop, or with other applications
open, my e-mail notification will announce incoming mail. My wife hasn't
been able to figure it out, so I wanted to seek help from you guys. If
anyone has any suggestions, or knows how to fix this, I would appreciate
hearing from you. I have JAWS 12 latest update, XP Home SP3.
   Thanks,
   Allen
