Russ, Sounds good. I'm using Outlook 2010 and this key stroke only gets me to the edit menu and I don't see an option for removing formatting. What is the selection in 2007 that the e selects? I often remove formatting in Word because I use the Duxbury Braille translator. In Word 2007, I select the entire document, then use the key tip, alt H E. This removes all of the prior formatting. Hope this helps, Russ -----Original Message----- From: blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Wednesday, November 02, 2011 3:54 AM To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] how do you remove formatting from a document Paste it into notepad first and then copy it back to the clipboard then paste it into word. I have copied some text from a word document I downloaded from the net. However, the copied text, still has the headings imbedded from the original document. I know this, because Jaws says "heading" before the relevant text. Deleting the heading doesn't seem to be working. Is there anything else i can do to remove this and any other imbedded formatting like tables etc? I am using word 2003, XP home and Jaws 12.
