Hi Al,

F6 and then down arrow is not working for me. I am using Office 2010 on a
Window7 machine running JAWS 12. When I press F6 the down arrow moves me
through 3 browsing options. Any ideas on why it is not working for me?

Annette

Thank you, that is faster and easier than what I have been doing. I will
give this a try next time.

You can also hit F6 key and arrow down to enabling editing.
This is not a permanent fix but just for the current document. Need to trust
the source, however

It sounds like you need to disable protective view. This is something new
with Office 2010, and might have also been a part of Office
2007 when a file
is sent to you from somewhere else.

I'm going to give you some directions below, but since I do not have a
protected doc to open I cannot be sure of the exact wording of some of the
items you need to select.

1. Alt+F to open the File menu.
2. Down arrow to the Information Tab.
3. Right arrow to Enable.
4. Press enter.

HTH,
Annette

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Excel 2010 - Protected View

Hello all,
I have some excel files. But when I open, Jaws read the titles and protected
view. I cannot navigate in sheet by arrow keys. The document is still there,
when using virtual Windows, Jaws can read. A few weeks ago, I read the files
normally.
Could anyone help me solve this.
I use Office 2010, Windows 7 32 bit and Jaws 12.
I much appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance,
Nam
