Hi Rick and Jo,
I just ripped a CD using windows media player 12 on my w7 laptop. It looks
just fine and all files are in MP3 format and very high quality 320 KBPS
format. Jo mentioned he used WMP to rip to WMA, which is probably how he
ended up with protected unburnable music files. The MP format does not copy
protect.
Try this:
1. launch media player.
2. Press alt T for tools.
3. Down arrow to options and press enter.
4. Press control tab or somehow work your way over to the Rip tab.
5. Tab through the controls to make your configurations as to how you want
the rip to be performed. Be careful to find the combo box used to specify
the format you want to rip your files. Down arrow to MP3 and tab away. Your
CD will now be ripped as MP3 files.
6. Make other adjustments such as the quality of your rips, is a slider so
move left and right arrow to adjust the quality of the audio to be ripped.
7. Tab to Ok and press enter.
8. On the following page you may have to use your jaws cursor to look for
the name of your CD, then use the windows applications key then choose the
rip to disk option or something to that effect.
9. You will know the rip is happening because you will hear your drive
turning. You can also try pressing alt F4 on the Windows media player
application, and if it is burning you will get a message asking if you
really want to close WMP because its in the middle of ripping your CD.
10. the files will probably be placed in C:\[your name]\my music.

I have it working on 2 64-bit systems,but that doesn't mean it will work
on
all.
I have found this to be the case with several programs.,
so at least give it a try.
