You may need to study the software carefully. However, one of the scanning options should be that you can choose which kind of file the information is saved to. One of those options may be .pdf. Normally, you need a full Adobe .pdf version to create a document in that format. However, I have noticed that in some generic scanner software packages, .pdf is an option. If you find that you can't save to that format, you may need a conversion program. There are quite a few out there and some may be on our home page. A word of caution might be in order here, Angelina. Not all Epson scanners are compatible with Jaws. I had to return one for that very reason. Have you had the scanner for long? If not, and you find that it doesn't work with Jaws, you might be able to return it and get an HP or some other scanner that does work with screen readers. There's a whole list of them on the Freedom Scientific site under Open Book. That's one of their scanning programs. It's quite expensive these days so I hope you can make the generic program work for you. As a last resort, there are also several reasonable scanning programs, some of which are quite workable with Jaws although not nearly as flexible as Open Book. Good luck Angelina.
