Randy, At this time, it is still possible to purchase an upgrade disk which will take you from Windows XP to Windows 7. However, as soon as Windows 8 comes out as a fully functioning version, the Windows 7 disks will be much harder to find. If you're going to do this at all, I'd suggest you do it very soon. There's a great deal of documentation available which can help you transition from XP to Windows 7. Some of it might still be on the Blind Computing site. The version of Jaws you are using might have some effect on how well Windows 7 functions once you have made the change.
Anything over Jaws 11 should work just fine. For me, switching from one type of Windows to the other was a bit challenging at first but to tell you the truth, it wasn't that much of a problem. There are many people on our list here who can give you help or hints. I can't emphasize enough though, if you are going to make the switch, do it very soon! It won't be long before Windows 8 comes out as a complete marketable version if it hasn't done so already. The stores have a bad habit of getting rid of older software very quickly. That's because they make much more money on the newer programs. Good luck, Randy.
