I did but there were technical information I needed clarification on hence my asking.

To update you on same, I wish to thank all for their valuable information and patience in helping me out.

I also wish to apologize for my late reply but was preoccupied with work and did not come on the computer for some days.

I had someone came across who had a pair of working eyes and allowed him to read all the emails.

Not sure what he did but got it working after about fifteen minutes. I inquired of him what he did to solve the problem in the hope of reporting the results to the list but he shrugged my inquiries and said that's okay and soon left.

So I am clueless about what he did.

Nevertheless I am just happy my dilemma was solved and I have my laptop working now.

Thanks again to everyone.

Hello. More than likely, you're going to end up needing to reformat.
If you created a password reset disk (which I assume you haven't),
you could easily reset your password. There are tools you can
download that claim to be able to hack your password, such as Offline
NT Password and Registry Editor, but they aren't very easy to use,
and you will probably need sighted assistance. With some sighted
help, I tried using this tool once, but was not successful.

Hello friends, I urgently need your help please.

as you all may be aware I posted previusly a problem concerning IE or
any browser won't let me change my homepage from AVG security search.
I was told that it probably had to do with some kind of settings in
parental control and I went in there to see if I could figure out
what to do. Whilst in there, I was prompted by Windows to set a
password, less programs or persons could have acces and pose some
kind of a security risk which I did and confirmed it in the box that
followed. I created a really simple password which I am sure to
remember and when I rebooted the machine I am locked out of Windows.
I hear the startup sound but gets the prompt to enter my password and
it never worked. So one problem lead me int another.

Do you have any idea as to how I can reset this or would I have to do
the dreaded reformat?
