Air chisels are exactly as described. a small form factor air braker or "JACK HAMMER". you can get many forms of chisel with a good quality machine. though I do warn you they are lethal in the wrong hands. you can use them for chiseling concrete or masonary if you're a stone mason or anything like that, wood splitting etc and even cutting out welds from steel frames with the right chisel and the knowledge. they work on the principle of a fan like system driving a shaft to a plate with a recessed angle with a bearing inside causing the plate to push back and forth driving the power. some are different depending on the use. lew
