That is not an option. One switch is near the basement enterance and the other at the top of the steps. My wife and daughters use both ways to get into the basement. Hi group Would it be safe and practicle for him to remove one of the switches and put a cover plate over the whole and just use the one remaining switch? That is providing he does have a switch at the top and a switch at the bottom. Then he would know that if the switch is down it is off.
