Spero, The pocket part of pocket hole joinery is that you put a screw through one face of a piece of wood, it comes out the edge of the wood, and goes into the edge of the next piece of wood. You would drill a hole at an angle to the face of the first piece of wood to make a pocket where the screw goes down through. At least this is one type of joint.
