Tom, I read about this ear protection. It does sound a bit strange, something to do with the shape of the headband, the fact that there is a 90 degree turn where the headband connects to the ear plug itself. The website wasn't very specific. Supposedly, it will help reduce low and high frequency noise more than midrange. It attenuates all sound somewhat though.
>From a mechanical standpoint, I guess that the mass of the head band, and it's resistance to flex, might increase the attenuation over just the ear plugs. I ordered a set, plus some replacement plugs, and shipped it cost 29 bucks. I'm willing to pay 29 bucks to test them out. My hearing is pretty important to me. -- Blue skies.
