The simple answer is take out your old one and put in a new one. But in order to tell you how to get the old one out we would need to know a bit more to work with.
Most have amounting collar that you loosen 3 screws up around the top so the old unit can twist out. It will be connected to the threaded part where the old basket would go before a disposal went in. It will often look like a triangle. You'll have to take the drain lines off of the unit at the least. Would be better to take the cross drain line down completely so you don't end up fighting with it. After that you will need to play with some things to see what else it takes to get the old one out. Like a line from the dishwasher if there is one and I'm not sure what all else. Remember there is an electrical line running to it and you want to be real careful with that. You're playing in water and that doesn't play with with electricity. ----- Original Message ----- From: Era Trice To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, September 26, 2008 4:38 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] replacing a garbage disposal How do I replace my garbage disposal?
