Tom, I almost always find most ohm meters give a very low reading with the probes touching. Unless you are actually wirking with very small resistances this reading which shouldn't be more than a few tenths of an ohm, won't matter.
I've never seen a digital ohm meter with the ability to calibrate this reading out, but the "relative button on the talking meter may do it. Tom fowle
