Jewel, Around here it is pretty flat, so walking on a treadmill, I can use the incline, and burn more fat. And trying to walk with a 30 month old and a 6 month old, isn't all that fun. Although we go outside for walks, but with small children, it is harder to walk fast. $1000.00 treadmill is much cheaper than a hospital stay for a heart attack. Michael

As for plain walking being as good as a treadmill: I thoroughly agree with that and the wallet is a lot healthier too! I ruined two treadmills this way. Doctors say that just plane walking is almost as effective as walking on a treadmill so I do my walking in the house. I walk around the living room, down the hall, into the bathroom, turn around, walk back up the hall and around the living room again. I do that for an hour each day. Regards. Max. K 4 O D S.
