Aloha Bob,
Will you explain a bit about the way you hang this Dutch Lap siding? 
I did a google search and the results are below, but I just can't 
understand how this is done.
Maybe I need another cup of coffee, grin, Betsy

a method of laying shingles, slates, or the like, in which each 
shingle or slate overlaps those below and to one side and is itself 
overlapped by those above and to the other side.
