Ed, You could just put a section of pipe in the ground. That would be easy to work with and replace. Get a pipe that is threaded on one end and put a coupling on it and pound it into the ground. Remove the coupling and turn on a flange with bolt holes to fasten the mail box. Put nice reflective tape in alternating rings up the post for visibility. ...............bob
