Dale, I'd get an estimate from a ligit contractor to have the beech sand removed and the polimerized put in. Then I'd discount the bill by that much.
I guess if that discount was more than 25^ of the bill I might moderate a bit. Your only error was not having it writt down. Here we have a state contractor's license board to which one can complain and cause stres at least. Don't know if you have such up there in civilized canada.
