Dear Betsy:
If you have enough hose, placing it in the bottom of the tub with the
outlet aimed so that the water flows around the outer edge of the bottom in a
clockwise direction, should help. Another solution would be to install a tee
in the drain line underneath the tub and then to bring up a drain line to
either side of the tub and then fasten it in place. You would then simply
insert the drain hose from the washer in this drain, and a rag or some other
material can be stuffed around the drain line to make sure no splash-back
occurs.
One other suggestion, if you attempt the last suggestion, and that is to
install a trap at the bottom so that sewer gas does not escape in to your
laundry.

                Yours Truly,

                Clifford Wilson

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Washer drainage hose splashes when emptying

Aloha all,
I have a deep laundry sink where the washer drains. When the water
hits the bottom of the sink it sometimes splashes onto the wall
beside the sink. Is there something I can put on the hose to make it stop?
TIA
Betsy
