I don't know if this is relevant, but our machine gets stuck every time
it tries to install the Windows 10 upgrade that came out in the fall.
It's a Gateway machine, and I'm told that this upgrade is incompatible
with our model. It could be that Windows doesn't do anything to the
computer in question but doesn't work properly either.

running it. Like I said, you might need some visual assistance to determine
what may have been modified. Also, Windows 10 likes to erase the boot loader in
favor of it's own boot loader, thus removing any possibility of dual booting
another OS that MS might have an issue with.

I've bought a new computer now with asus x99-e ws/usb 3.1 motherboard.
I'm planning to do the same, but I'm afraid. the computer is expensive.
