"The Power of One" was a very good book. I read it several years ago and thought it was quite good. Boxing seemed more of a side issue, though. I hope you're not put off by my thinking it's also a coming of age book - a boy could have been far less motiviated than he was and could have been badly influened by so much around him, but in the end, wins out.
