I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry and
Stormy:Misty's Foal by the same author. I read these as a young child and would
check it out from the library every time my mom brought me there. The story
take place off of Virginia and Maryland, close to you.

I have a niece that is about to turn seven and would like to get her a
few books for her birthday. She doesn't read unless she has to since
her parents have stressed the importance of watching TV over reading.
Do any of you have a suggestion as to what I should get her?
