Is Verizon DSL the only game in town now?

Seems like they are the only carrier left providing DSL service.  I have
several clients who have been left out in the cold with recent DSL shutdowns
or bankruptcies.  The only reasonable alternative for those without access
to Verizon DSL service seems to be single or dual channel ISDN (T1 service
is just too costly for many small businesses).  Anyone else found anything
better?
