I have always been under the impression that Humanware's upgrade policy is structured in the way that if you have a SMA, and there is an upgrade you don't want, just skip it! Then you still have your SMA count for the next upgrade unless it is something where they would put in a new Motherboard or in the case of transplanting my old Braille Display from the classic to the mpower. So, I don't know what the big deal is, simply don't upgrade. I'm not going to and I am living in the United States.

Hello, Deon:

You asked for opinions outside the state, of which I am not. However, I understand your sentiments, and agree with you totally. I have stated, and will always do so, that every person should be equal. When you pay a certain amount for a product, you should expect to receive something.

Many people say, "if you don't want it, don't purchase". This is hardly a reasonable answer. Everyone who spends a lot of money for this type of technology deserves to get the very best.

As I said in the beginning, I don't live outside of the United States, but felt the need to respond to you. I teach a lot of BrailleNote Technology, and as you know from the other posts I have written, it hurts me immensely to tell someone they can't use their equipment for what they need.

Off the soapbox I come. Yes, I am in your corner. I am not speaking as an embassador who would like to receive payment, but as someone who cares what you receive.
