I certainly agree with the unhappiness about the directions Humanware
seems to be heading. In short, they are not serving their customers well.
However, this situation also makes me wonder why, in our age of
increasing globalization, bookshare is not available to anyone outside the
US? Why is this service so restrictive and so insular?

My disappointment has to do with the fact that I CANNOT CHANGE MY OWN
BATTERIES. Why not? Suppose I live in Pharaoh's Island, where do I go to
have my batteries changed?
Why should most major updates only be beneficial to folks living in the
United States or Canada? Even Canadians CAN'T USE Bookshare, so what
benefits do they derive from much concentration on the service?
Back to square one we are, constantly caught between a rock and a hard
place--and the price we pay for it all never seems to get discounted!
