Subject: [Braillenote] apex

Hello all,

Today, I got a chance to see the apex. For those of you who are empower
users, you will love it.! It's a little smaller than the Braillenote empower in width, but about the same size in length. It's thickness is like that of the stream. It has three usb ports, so you can plug in all kinds of devices
at the same time. It has an sd card reader which will support 32 gig.

It has a VVGA port at the back. It has an earphone and microphone jack on
the left side of the machine. The record button is like that of the record
button on the stream.

The Braille on the unit is excellent, as its very crisp and sharp and makes
reading extremely comfortable.

The size of the unit sort of reminds me of a netbook computer as apex fits
easily in my purse which was a medium size purse.

The aps on it work the same as the aps on the empower and pk. There is no
difference there.

It has wireless capabilities - but I didn't get to put that to the test as
we didn't have wireless available. It has a port to connect an Ethernet
cable. It has Bluetooth and a usb connection port on the side if you want to
use the unit as a Braille display.

The radio is much better sounding, and picks up stations really easily.

I noticed that books, and long documents load a little faster.

So for you guys who are putting together the financing, and will have one
soon, you will enjoy it, particularly when humanware starts to roll out some
additional aps.
