First, you may pair it this way, but it is unnecessary since the
second part (terminal mode, select apex on iPhone) is all that is
required after you pair it the first time, unless you tell the iPhone
to forget the apex.

I can't help with the other two, sorry. All I have is an iPod, so I
have no experience with internet service through the iPhone, directly
or as a modem for another device.
