Hey there Chris, OK. I'm going to try to explain this but I'm not promising anything *grin*
In the back of your bn, you can place cf cards. You do not need an adapter of any kind. You simply take the card and slide it on in lol. Now, what I think Office Max had you confused with was a Compact flash card READER. Not adapter, but reader. This has a plug, which plugs into a port on your computer. Your computer then recognizes the compact flash card as a separate drive. These are the things that generally only come compatible with USB ports and not serial ports) The serial port on your braille note is located directly to the left of your compact flash card slot.
