Hi Kellie, I've seen that problem reported here more than a couple of times. I remember someone suggesting unchecking some setting, but the person who had the problem said it didn't make any difference and the file was still truncated though at a different point. Actually, you're right, there's no safe way to do it really, even if one uses a card reader, if the problem started when that person exited the modified file to save it.
I'm thinking, if one can save the entire contents to the clipboard while inside the file, so much the better because I haven't heard of reported problems relating to saved stuff in the clipboard. Yes, it's also good to be able to save to a cf card with the SPACE (CTRL) with S command, but others have mentioned that their units would lock up and of course doing a reset to fix it would cause the latest revisions from not being saved. There's something somewhat similar to the file truncation problem that I've seen on my BrailleNote. When I am reading a file in the Book Reader, and then press SPACE with dots 4-5-6 (that would be READ with B on a QT) to go to the bottom of a large file, I get the message, "Repositioning" which is right, but find myself say at the 470th page of a 750-page Keyword document. The file did not get truncated, however. If I press the keyboard command to move to the next sentence or line, I hear an error tone. But if I press the ADVANCE thumb key, the BN would continue displaying the text from that point to the actual end of the file. If I route the cursor anywhere after that point I reached by pressing the Bottom of File command, then I can start using the keyboard navigation commands again without getting error tones. Weird, and I don't know what's causing it because I've just seen it with two books (that weren't really over 2 megs in size, unlike others I've read). I wonder though if that happens to VoiceNote units, because if so, how would the user know that the file was not really truncated and how can he continue reading the rest of the large file? But I think that's far better than actually losing part of or the whole file. Roselle >----- QUOTED MESSAGE ----- >Sent by: "Kellie Hartmann" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Hi Roselle.
