Hello Paul and list,
I'm running into this very problem when I try to connect to my present ISP
which is DSL but I should be able to use it as dial up as well. My old ISP
works fine when I connect with wireless phone or on my main phone line. It
might be a problem with your provider! I hope to find out shortly! i'LL
LET YOU KNOW WHAT i LEARN SHOULD i SOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH ASSISTANCE FROM
OTHERS.

Hi, Terri. I think I mentioned this to Jonathan, but he didn't have any
ideas. I met him at CSUN. I have thought of the infrared idea. I can
connect with the serial, but is says connected, logging in then disconnected.
For some reason, it won't stay connected. If I do this from my pc, I can
put in an initialization string that makes the phone behave so to speak,
but we can't enter an initialization string in the bn.
I just think this would be neat to have the ability to do this, but I
honestly think that no one at PDI has any idea why the lg 4400 phone
doesn't work. At least tech support doesn't. Guess I would have to find
out that 800 number and call PDI directly and ask if they could get an lg
4400 and a serial cable and find out what the problem is.
I wish Marlaina Leeberg was on this list. I'd ask her which phone she had
and why she couldn't get hers to work with verizon either.
Dear Paul,
I have some other suggestions:
1. Don't stop with Tech Support. Call the toll free number and ask to
speak to the President of PDI/HumanWare. Tell him your problem and see if
he can't assign someone to help you.
2. Try emailing Dean Jackson or Jonathan Mosen privately and present your
problem to them. PDI wants our business, so one of these suggestions has a
good chance of working.
3. You could contact Verizon and exchange your phone and the cable for a
phone which has an infrared connection. You may need to go to the store to
do this. Many people on the list use cell phones with an infrared port. If
Verizon wants your business, they should be willing to make the exchange.
That's about all the suggestions I have at this time. Most cell phones are
inaccessible to us. The one thing I'd like to be able to do is to program
names and phone numbers into my phone. I don't want any scaled-down Windows
CE programs in my BN, but it would be nice if I could use it with Bluetooth
software and a bluetooth connector.
I wish you the very best in getting your cell phone problem solved.
