Lisa: If you do a reset while a file is open, you will lose all data from within that file. This is normal behavior. Since you did not close out of keyword before doing the reset (at least, that was what was implied from your message), then it would follow that all data in your file would be lost. So, I guess the only thing that can be learned from this is to not ever do this again. This is not the bn's fault, it was just an accidental misuse that will not occur again.
What I believe happened is that you opened the file and you were placed at the bottom of the document. Many times when this happens, you will be presented with a blank braille display. So, what I think happened is that you opened the document, were placed at the bottom of the file, thought the display was not working, and subsequently lost all your data. Lisa, I know that you have had your bn for quite some time now, and therefore you should know the importance of backing up all files, not just on a bn but on any electronic device. They are faulty, and will from time to time fail, or be accidentally misused by users. Keeping one copy of a file, particularly one this important, was also not the bn's fault. We must learn to maximize our technology to the best of our ability. So the two important lessons here are: 1. Do not reset while a file is open; and 2. back up your files.
