Hi Mary Ellen and list,
I have a question regarding these disappearing files or information which
disappears within a file. Has anyone ever backed up their files or did an
interim backup on their unit which had a disappearing file in it? Let's
assume there is a file on your unit which disappears as Lisa's file did but
it is backed up. The file is placed back in the unit again as it was
before since it was backed up. Has anyone seen such a file disappear again
in the same manner as it disappeared previously? I'm asking whether the
same file can disappear again in the same way it did originally!
Sometimes I think a file can be corrupted simply bby going into and out of
the file. There are times keys on a unit may be pressed unintentionally
which may contribute to the disappearance of a file. Perhaps a weak
battery may contribute to this problem if the unit isn't functioning as it
should due to a weak battery! Sometimes static electricity from rubbing
one's feet on a carpet may cause misterious problems to a unit at the wrong
time. I had an old BNS classic which I returned to the state since the
data within would simply disappear whenever I walked on the carpet at my job.
My speculation won't bring her data back but these are questions worth
checking into. I probably should back up my unit more often than I do and
this should keep things like this from happening! If the latest
information isn't in the backed up file, it won't need to be totally
reconstructed. I use flash cards to back up my files in my unit. I have
used Sandisk cards thus far!
I too hope the new upgrade will fix this annoying problem.

Oh I have had that. I am afraid there is a little grinch that shows up in
these machines and steals the information right out from under us.
Actually I havefor real had information simply evaporate just by turning
the thing off. I lost all thecontact information for when I was in Hawaii
so there obviously is a bug somewhere.

dHi
The file is located in the general folder. It is still there just the
info in it is complety gone. It looks like a blank file. I would say it
was like 20 pages worth in Braille that's an estimation. Yes I already
tried that stuff for the none folder. I also looked in the temp files nothing.

Lisa, where was your file located? I know you couldn't have been in
KeySoft.
