I've been managing on-line communities of one kind or another since 1988, so
I certainly walked into this with eyes open. If it's too much, I'll ask for
help. Julia has been covering most of the day-to-day admin stuff (which is
mostly just okaying messages from new members, then turning their "moderate"
flag off. When I was on vacation, I temporarily added a friend of mine, who
has keys to our house, as an admin, so that he could back me up. If there
are others among you who are interested in volunteering to help with admin,
speak up. I'm sure that help will be needed now and then.

As for my family, my wife thinks this is a total waste of time, despite its
connections to my work. She doesn't quite get my work, either, however.
The rest of the family isn't even aware.

Now I will bow out of this discussion. To be frank, the continuing
self-examination of list governance feels somewhat excessively
self-involved. And to clarify the record, I was completely uninvolved in
anything with regard to administrative action about Mark.

Nick
