(FWIW, it's a FORTRAN 90 compiler. M$ used to sell it, but doesn't any more AFAIK. It is, however, compatible with their Visual C++ to the point where it allows you to insert inline C++ (and assembly language) routines. Hot stuff for someone who grew up trying to crunch giant matrices with a stripped-down version of FORTRAN 66 running on a system in which everything: OS, compiler, program and data had to fit into 8K . . . )
