This is some of the silliness that decreases the value of Brad's web site (normally about half of what he writes is economics, and half is partisan "shrillness"). He is worth reading for the economic half, but it is best to ignore the other stuff. Brad knows very well that very few people are suggesting that the government will default on the SS trust fund debt. That is a legal question. The real issue is the economic significance of the trust fund.
