"Petrol" (gasoline) in Rio de Janeiro is now (and for many months) about R$ 2.70 a litre (about USD 1.625 a litre), of which 25% is ethanol and 50% are taxes. And food prices are rising obscenely, despite the fact that we are net exporters of food. It's a blessing that 1st world countries put so many barriers to Brazilian food, otherwise much more would be exported, and I would have to pay more for less food.
