Really? Which of us is more partisan, Dr. Brin?
To take the last two administrations. One of us has
described the Clinton Administration's economic policy
- particularly its economic foreign policy - as
"masterful". The same person has also described the
Bush Administration's economic policy as "disastrous"
- also "incompetent".

By contrast, the other person in this discussion
describes a Republican administration as filled with
treasonous morons, and says that a Democratic
Administration made (as far as I can tell) no mistakes
of any significance at all.

One of the two of us started attacking Trent Lott as a
disgrace and a danger to the Republican Party in 1998,
on this list and in other fora. The same person has
written about the prevalence of racism in American
society and expressed his belief that taxes in this
country should be higher overall and considerably
higher on the wealthy.

The other person called the person who made those
attacks a partisan Republican, apparently because he
made the sin of disagreeing with him.

As anyone who has read this list over the last few
years knows, the person who made all the criticisms of
Republican party actions and attitudes listed above
is, of course, me. And that just for starters. You
would be the other party in this little dispute.

So, Dr. Brin, the reason I'm not taking you seriously
is because you haven't engaged me on the issues. You
_have_ variously insulted my intelligence, integrity,
professional competence, and objectivity. I haven't
ever replied to those in anything like similar terms.
But partisan isn't disagrees with David Brin. I'm not
a sycophant, and if I wasn't intimidated by Sam
Huntington or Stanley Hoffmann, I'm not going to roll
over to invective from you either.
