Hi Celia Thanks for your feedback.
Personally I don't think there has been clear communication concerning rules - proven by the number of players who didn't know them last weekend. This is no ones fault but if the rules have only been decided this season you can't expect everyone who it affects to know them straight away!! One suggestion to rectify this could be: There are a number of 'fun' indoor tournaments held all throughout the UK, I believe it would be beneficial for the Indoors DOC to request TD's of these tournaments to enforce the new rules (ala Damme Slamme) so people can become aware and used to applying them. You could then enforce them at nationals series (qualifiers and nationals) in the 2006/07 season once they have had bedding in time. This would prevent any unnecessary advantages to teams who've had more experience with the rules this season and allows any problems to be ironed out rather than them coming apparent in an important game during qualifiers or nationals. I appreciate that you could argue this could become confusing to have two sets of rules being used (new set for fun tournaments and old for nationals) - but this would only occur for the rest of this season and also Celia (and probably others) had that situation occur the weekend just gone and she seemed to cope fine :O) Cheers Matt __________________________________________________ BritDisc mailing list [email protected] http://zion.ranulf.net/mailman/listinfo/britdisc Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/informed.asp
