'facetize' command do not run for brep objects. I tried as suggested
by you first by running brep command for an entity say rcc. It created
'cyl1_brep' object. When run facetize on cyl1_brep, it says:

nmg_booltree_leaf_tess(cyl1_brep): tessellation failure
_db_walk_subtree() FAIL on '/cyl1_brep'
facetize: tessellating primitives with tolerances a=0, r=0.01, n=0
facetize: no resulting region, aborting

But facetize successfully run on implicit primitive cyl1, showing
following message:

facetize: tessellating primitives with tolerances a=0, r=0.01, n=0
facetize: evaluating boolean expressions
facetize: cyl1
facetize: converting to BOT format

As such I couldn't run bot_dump inside from MGED. First I tried simply
running "bot" within MGED and from usage message, I run "bot get faces
cyl1Faces" and got the total number of faces of object.

But from brlman page of bot_dump, finally I exported cyl1Faces bot to
different text formats.

But point that worth to be noted is that facetize command do not run
on brep objects.

I will share shortly whatever I find.
